JoSAA Registration 2020: JoSAA held the combined counselling for the admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs and GFTIs. Round 6 result is out. The candidates who have qualified the JEE Main 2020, is eligible for admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. JoSAA invites the candidates for JoSAA 2020 Registration who have appeared in the JEE Main 2020 and JEE Advanced 2020 Examination from 6th October 2020. JoSAA registration process will take place in an online mode through the official website josaa.nic.in for the JEE Main Counseling 2020. JoSAA 2020 Registration process is only conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority for the candidates to allocate them the seats in JoSAA participating Institutes. These Institutes provide Engineering Courses in different streams for which the candidates can apply through JoSAA 2020. As per the preference the candidates select the course and apply in JoSAA counselling. Eligibility Criteria for JoSAA 2020 Registration
The candidates who are appearing in the JEE Main 2020 will be registering themselves for the JoSAA 2020 for the counseling purposes. The candidates must fulfill the Eligibility Criteria to fill the Josaa Registration 2020 form . Following Eligibility Criteria must be followed.
- The candidates must have appeared in the JEE Main 2020 and cleared the examination.
- It is necessary that the candidate has obtained the Rank less than 2,50,000 in the JEE Main 2020 Ranks.
- Seats for the candidates would be allotted based on the Reservation Category.
- This year 75% in 12th Board is not mandatory.

- Earlier, candidates more than the age of 25 years were not allowed to appear for JEE Main 2020 Counselling but until the latest orders, the candidates can register themselves and apply for the admissions provisionally.

JoSAA Registration Process 2020
The main purpose for appearing in the examination of JEE Main or JEE Advanced is to obtain the seats in the prestigious colleges of India. The candidates who will appear in the examinations and score the Top Ranks would be eligible for the JoSAA 2020 Process. Joint Seat Allocation Authority will Register the Candidates first and then release the Opening and Closing Ranks for the Admissions purposes. JoSAA Registration 2020 will probably start from October 2020. The candidates can use their JEE Main 2020 Login to Register. JEE Advanced 2020 qualified candidates will be able to use their corresponding password to log in.
How To Make Registration For JoSAA 2020 @ josaa.nic.in
For JoSAA 2020 registration, candidates will have to log-in to their account using their roll number and password. After log-in, candidates will see all their basic details like, gender, nationality, state code of eligibility contact information etc. Candidates will have to check and reconfirm the details. Locking The Preferences After JoSAA Registration 2020
Once the candidate has done the JoSAA 2020 Registration through the official website – josaa.nic.in. They can later visit the official website of the Candidate’s Portal of JoSAA 2020 and simply log in to Lock their Preferences. The candidates choose their preferable Choice of Institute and from the available list of 100 Institutes under Participating Institute List. Once the choices are saved the candidates would be called in for the JEE Main Counselling 2020 for multiple rounds. The process for counseling will be detailed later. The candidates would be required to log in and set their preferences. Follow the process below.

- The first choice being the best college the candidate prefers to take admission in.
- Once done, the candidate should lock in their choices.

- If the candidate does not lock the preference for the JoSAA 2020, the last saved choice on the last date of Registration will be locked in automatically.

QUES: Is there any other agency for conducting the seat allocation to IITs and NITs?
ANS: No agency other than JoSAA is responsible for joint seat allocation for IITs and NIT+ Institutes. Candidates seeking information/assistance from any agency/agent other than JoSAA shall be doing so at their own risk and cost.
QUES: I have qualified in JEE Advanced 2020 & JEE Main 2020. Is it mandatory to register in JoSAA to get a seat in IITs, NITs, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other-GFTIs?
ANS: JoSAA 2020 Registration and choice filling process is mandatory for any qualified candidate interested in joining any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs (TripleI-Ts) and Other-GFTIs (within the purview of JoSAA 2020).
QUES: What is JoSAA registration? Is there any registration fee?
ANS: After initial login, you will be asked to reconfirm/correct a few details, viz. gender, state code of eligibility, nationality and contact details. This is the registration process. After that, you will proceed for filling-in of your program choices. There is no payment for the registration and choice filling.
QUES: What is the JoSAA registration process?
ANS: Log in to the JoSAA portal @josaa.nic.in using JEE (Main) 2020 credentials. Then reconfirm (or correct, if required) your basic details, viz., gender, nationality, and state code of eligibility along with the contact details. No other personal data can be modified.
QUES: When should I pay any money to JoSAA and how much should I pay?
ANS: If you are offered a seat in any round of seat allocation process, then for accepting the seat you have to pay seat acceptance fee and report at a reporting center for document verification. Seat acceptance fee for SC/ST/PwD candidates is Rs. 15,000/- and for others it is Rs. 35,000/-. The fee has to be deposited using the following modes of payment: Online Banking of State Bank of India ONLY, debit cards issued by State Bank of India ONLY or through e-challan from State Bank of India ONLY before coming to the Reporting Centre.
QUES: What are the qualifying examinations for admission to NIT+ Institutes?
ANS: Candidates qualifying in either one or both JEE (Main) 2020Paper-1 (B.E. / B.Tech.) and JEE (Main) 2020 Paper-2 (B.Arch. / B.Planning) are eligible for admission to NIT+ Institutes. However, merely qualifying in these examinations does not guarantee admission in any of the Institute. Each Institute / academic program has additional eligibility requirements which candidates have to satisfy to get admission.
QUES: What are the rank lists?
ANS: The JoSAA Rank List will be released on the official website – josaa.nic.in. Common rank list (CRL) is the one where everyone will be considered; CRLPwD where anyone with disabilities will be considered. For OBC-NCL candidates, OBC-NCL and OBC-NCL-PwD are included. Similarly, in SC list, both SC and SC-PwD are included, and in ST list, both ST and ST-PwD rank lists are included.
QUES: Can I appear in one or more rank lists?
ANS: Yes. Depending on your (birth) category and physical disability status and performance in the entrance examination, you may appear in more than one rank list and a maximum of four rank lists in each of JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced).
QUES: Is there any cut off marks for registration and choice filling for getting admission in NITs/IIITs/Other-GFTIs/IIEST?
ANS: No. There are no cut off marks for registration and choice filling for getting admission in NITs/IIITs/Other-GFTIs/IIEST. All the candidates whose JEE (Main) 2018 ranks are declared will be allowed to fill in their choices.
QUES: What are the seat quotas of various institutes considered under JoSAA?
ANS: All India: all candidates are eligible for this seat quota Home State quota: only candidates whose state code of eligibility is same as the state/union territory in which the Institute is located are eligible for this seat quota Other State quota: only candidates whose state of eligibility is NOT same as the state/union territory in which the Institute is located are eligible for this seat quota.
QUES: What types of seat quotas are available for admission into IITs?
ANS: There is only ONE type of seat quota, viz., All India quota, in IITs.
QUES: What is locking of choices? Once locked, can I unlock?
ANS: Locking the choices is an option indicating the finalization of choices after which the candidates can print their choices in final format. Once the choices are locked, they cannot be unlocked. Lock option will be enabled only after the announcement of the mock round of allocation.
QUES: Do I need to pay any fees for registration and filling up choices?
ANS: No; you do not have to make any payment for registration and filling up of choices.
QUES: What happens if I do not “lock” my choices?
ANS: If you do not lock your choices, the last saved choices/preferences will be locked automatically at the conclusion of the time-window for filling-in of choices.
